Missing Toddler Found in Hyatt Lobby Fountain

Posted in : General

(added last year!)

An eighteen-month-old child is in life-threatening condition at Saint Francis Memorial Hospital after he was found in a fountain in the lobby of the Hyatt Regency Hotel located at 5 Embarcadero Center on Wednesday afternoon. The child had entered the hotel with his mom, twin sister, and nanny to take pictures of the hotel when he disappeared.

Police officers found the boy, who was not breathing and had to be revived using CPR, near a Christmas tree at the end of a 29-inch-deep trough that drains the fountain. Investigators are still reviewing the surveillance footage, but the incident appears to be an accident. Temporary three-foot-high barriers have been erected around the trough while the hotel constructs a more permanent structure.
